Ok, this is the most unusual electric blanket we've had out of the many over the years. It is truly a warming blanket as the bed never gets hot even on high which is fine with us. We have a tempurpedic mattress which really isn't supposed to have a heating blanket on it so this is great to get the bed a warm, comfortable temperature to get into and we then we turn it off when we go to bed. We keep our bedroom temperature very cool and the mattress would be pretty cold and firm without this warming blanket on to keep it warm and soft. Pretty much it could be kept on most of the time since it is super safe and uses the same amount of electricity as most light bulbs according to the information that came
with ours. Yes it does have two cords that attach to two places on the bottom of the blanket and each cord has a transformer which goes under the bed. We also have one outlet in our bedroom and use a surge protector power cord with multiple outlets so we can plug in more than two items and it works great! The other difference with this blanket is the texture of it. It is very puffy, soft and light as a cloud and somewhat slippery, but not too much so. It cannot be tucked in to the mattress anywhere and has to just hang loose but that hasn't been a problem for us either. Another plus to this blanket is the fact that it is very evenly warm with no cold spots anywhere which was not so with any other electric blanket we've had.
Makes it hard to get out of bed

We've had this blanket for a little over two months. We love it. You wouldn't think that the lack of the stiff wires that are found in a traditional electric blanket would make such a difference, but this one has a totally different feel. It's also very warm - we keep our thermostats at 61F at night, but don't often need a setting above Lo(we do have a lightweight silk comforter that we place over the blanket). We have had none of the radio interference problems that another review mentioned - we have two radios in the bedroom. We also found that the wires running to the blanket are no more obtrusive than the wires on our previous blanket - except that there are separate plugs for each side of the queen blanket. Controls are attractive, lighted, and the auto shutoff is a nice feature.
I love this blanket

I've spent the last few years in a cold bed, and now I can get it warmed up before I retire. Someone said the wires show. However, it's simple to cut a small hole in the top of the bed skirt, the part that doesn't show, that fits over the box springs, and put the wire up through the hole before plugging it in, then the wires are hidden. If you sew, make a very large button hole for the cord. My only question is, just how much energy does it use? I love to turn it on for an hour before retiring and that way, it warms the memory foam underneath me and that is just awesome! Then I turn it down to 3 and it stays warm all night.
no more brrr

We recently bought a warming blanket for our guest room. Our first blanket, in the master bedroom, is over three years old and still working great. Previously we'd had traditional electric blankets. They seemed to last for a couple of years and would then need to be replaced. When we became aware of possible health and safety risks related to electric blankets, we stopped using them.

After we found out about low-voltage warming blankets, it took a while before we bought one, as they are more expensive than most electric blankets. We finally decided to give one a try. The warming feature is quite subtle at first, and just takes the chill off the bed without making it hot. Once you get under the covers is when you appreciate the blanket. We also like the automatic shut-off feature (in cast you forget to turn it off in the morning) and the blanket's washability.

This is an excellent product which we recommend without reservation.
Excellent

I had this product shipped to my mother in Wyoming and she said it is the best blanket she has ever had. She sets it at night and it powers down by morning. This blanket has all the new safety features.
Marvelous in the short term

I have had this blanket for 1 week. It is light, the wires cannot be felt, and it gives a very gentle and even heat. It takes a long time to warm up and the "1" setting seems imperceptibly warm to me. If you like the super-toasty pre-heat feel, probably a blanket with a DC transformer is not for you. The transformer does not click and it is lighted, both excellent features. Like others, I wish it ran for more than 12 hours because I use up some time on pre-heat. Note to folks with TempurPedic mattresses. I know they say don't use an electric blanket, but my mattress is just too cold when I climb in (I've had it for 7 years, I must be getting older) which was keeping me awake. I wanted to warm things up a little. I set the blanket on 7, got a very nice warmth, and turned it down to 3. Um, so, I have been waking up with back pain. The first time I blamed it on gardening but the second time I didn't have this excuse. I am going to try pre-heating on 5 and then turning the blanket off when I get in. Since I subtracted my light comforter when I added the blanket, I'll probably be too cold. I'll have to do some bedding swapping to get the right overall effect. I do consider this blanket worth the effort to "make things work" with TempurPedic. Also, I put a full blanket on a queen bed so as to only have one controller (my dog sleeps on the other side) and not accidentally stick my feet over onto the unheated side. If you slide the blanket towards "your" side of the bed this works fine.

I love my electric warming blanket. Different from others I've used; controls are quiet and I like the auto shut-off. It is soft but sturdy construction, and a wonderful gentle heat. I did not, however, anticipate a power converter box and cord to separately plug in for each side of the blanket. With only 1 outlet on that bed wall and 2 existing bedside lamps using the outlet, I struggled w/ distributing cords and extension cords for everything. But, all is well and I truly hate to see spring come when I store my blanket till next winter.
